Festivities start at noon EST, Saturday, May 15th and drumming will continue (non-stop) through Sunday, May 16th till 5:00 pm (28 non-stop hours later!). Come early/stay late! Bring the family. We will play with some amazing artists. We have vendors with drums, food, beautiful souvenirs, and onsite instruction. We are making a sound impression on the health complexion of our community.cancer will crumble to the beat of our drums."
cancer is not an easy fix. It takes great community effort and financial support to make the ‘c’ monster a thing of history and something no body need fear.
As important as anything else we do, we encourage the community to focus on 'playing nice' together through collaborative efforts.
DrumsForCures is a non-competitive, true non-profit (ALL volunteer) organization promoting cooperative and collaborative relationships amongst the entities working for cancer solutions. DrumsForCures wants you to intelligently select and support the cancer societies, and health & research facilities that do the most good. We make them available to you and ask that we be the conduit. DrumsForCures prides itself on being a hub of disbursement of cancer health information and resources. Donating through DFC, Inc. truly provides more "bang for your buck". With your donation to DrumsForCures, you allow us to carry on our good work throughout communities and you receive the same tax benefit and recognition for your contributions. By donating funds through DrumsForCures, you may support the cancer initiative of choice, in your name and in honor or in memory of someone. You may also choose to allow a percentage of funds donated to benefit our programs directly :: CHI & E and PPPulse are extraordinary programs we’re developing. Cancer Health Integration & education and bringing percussionists into pediatric clinics. For over 3 years, DrumsForCures has been developing programs to be implemented in schools to educate young people about the importance of cancer health through preventative and early detection measures. We encourage starting the cancer conversation at elementary school levels so that young people will know that they will maintain healthy living practices, will have specific baseline check-ups at certain age intervals, know what to expect (to certain degrees) when they, or somebody close to them are diagnosed, and to better understand the physical, social and economic considerations that surviving cancer (directly or indirectly affected) may have on them. DrumsForCures has established PPPulse, Pediatric Percussion Programs :: DrumsInQuietPlaces, bringing rhythm to the hospitals and clinics for the kids. Drumming with the kids (and staff) creates a healthy, healing distraction from the sterile, scary, QUIET hospital environment. When drumming, all else is forgotten and we live and play in the moment. It is something every body can do regardless of talent or physical capacities. Countless health benefits ensue and the relationships between "patient and caregiver" change forever.
